1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Standardization of Soap Act [Chapter 14:18].2. Interpretation
In this Act—“Minister” means the Minister of Industry and Commerce or any other Minister to whom the President may, from time to time, assign the administration of this Act;“soap” means the product which results from the process of saponification of fats and oils—(a)with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide; or(b)by the neutralization of fatty acids with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide or their carbonates or bicarbonates; or(c)by the neutralization of fatty acids with ammonia or triethanolamine.3.
